Rasta at Högakustenbron

The hotel and restaurant chain Rasta wants to establish itself at the southern end of Högakustenbron. The company plans to build Sweden's largest Rasta facility to date there, with a restaurant, meeting place, hotel and parking spaces for both motorhomes and commercial traffic. The facility will become a hub and will be located in an area right where the E4 and highway 90 meet.

  • Restaurant/café
  • Service shop
  • Gas station and charging stations
  • Playground, barbecue area and viewpoint

Rasta's business concept is to operate the best roadside facilities with good food, fuel, shop and hotel rooms for people traveling and working along our Swedish roads. Rasta is a family-owned company that has been around since the 1970s. The company currently has 27 locations along the roads in Sweden. The northernmost is currently located in Tönnebro north of Gävle.

Högakustenbron was inaugurated in 1997 and was then the ninth longest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge with its 180 meter high pylons has become a popular tourist destination and a symbol for the entire High Coast. The area at the outfall of the river Ångermanälven is very beautiful with the characteristically magnificent and dramatic nature of the High Coast.

The Hotel Höga Kusten is located at the northern end of the bridge, and Höga Kusten Turistservice is also based there.

The area around the southern bridge is so far unused. Rasta's facility is planned to be located at the community of Veda, right where the E4 and highway 90 meet. It is a hub for traffic from Örnsköldsvik and Umeå in the north, Härnösand and Sundsvall in the south, and Kramfors and Sollefteå in the west.
