Cooperation for skills supply

Competitors - but also partners. In Härnösand, many actors work together in the Good Tech network to strengthen the tech industry's skills supply.

Det går bra för konsultföretaget Afrys kontor i Härnösand. Robin Molin och studiochef Martin Norberg räknar med att dagens 18 anställda ska bli ännu fler i framtiden.

- As employers, we sometimes compete for the same skills, but we realize that we also have a lot to gain by collaborating in the hunt for staff," says Martin Norberg, studio manager at Afry Ark Studio in Härnösand.
Afry, formerly Ångpanneföreningen, is an international consulting company in technology, design and consulting. The company helps clients to develop in areas such as sustainability and digitalization and has around 19,000 employees globally.
The Härnösand office works primarily with architecture and urban planning, as well as with the process industry, which has experienced a strong upswing in Norrland in recent years. Its customers include both public and private actors.
And things are going well for Afry in Härnösand. The office currently has 18 employees and Martin
Norberg describes it as "all the tables are full". After a slump in the economy
optimism is back in many industries, and in the field of civil engineering, the effects of the planned battery parts factory in Torsboda are already being felt.

"We are taking a wait-and-see approach at the moment, but we can see that we will want to hire and are preparing in every way we can. Any CV from potential returnees who have education and relevant experience is super interesting to us,"

IT is not a major part of Afry's operations in Härnösand today, but these issues still
come into play in many projects. The IT sector is also growing steadily both nationally and in the region, so the company has chosen to get involved in Good Tech Härnösand.
The network meets regularly to jointly pursue important issues, especially around skills supply. Among other things, Good Tech plans joint recruitment events, works for new vocational college programs and develops collaboration with schools to inspire Härnösand's young people to apply to
the industry.
