Vårdkasberget in Härnösand has world-class mountain bike tracks. One of the country's most successful cycling clubs, Härnösand Cykelklubb, has built tracks here that have been used in two Swedish championships and international competitions.

There are two trails that are marked with signs. Gerestavarvet is an 8.5 kilometer long and technically easy trail, but with a somewhat tough finish. Holmbergsrundan is 7.5 kilometers and moderately difficult with some technical parts. In addition, there are endless other trails in the area.

Viewpoints

The best view of Härnösand is from Vårdkastornet. On the top floor of the tower there is a sign with a QR code. Scan the QR code with your phone to find out more about what you see in text and images. Did you know that you can see the pylons of the High Coast Bridge from the tower? Don't miss the southern and northern views, they are also great places with a lovely view of Härnösand and the sea.

Vårdkasmalen

Vårdkasmalen is a sloping and terraced shingle field located between the top of Vårdkasberget and Bräntberget. When the ice sheet retreated, it left behind moraine. Below the highest coastline, the sea has since worked and sorted the moraine material. Here you get a sense of the land uplift, which is about 8 mm per year.
