Skarpudden and Barsviken
Skarpudden and Barsviken is a popular outdoor recreation area. n with remains from ancient times such as burial cairns and other rock formations. If you follow the path around Skarpudden, you can enjoy beautiful coastal sections with rocks, beach pebbles and untouched rocky forest.
Skarpudden
Skarpudden is the southernmost cape on the High Coast and a great place for a short day hike. There is a circular path on the headland and you can continue all the way out to the lighthouse on the southern tip of Skarpudden. It is also a great place to study bird migration. The path passes two beautiful bays where there are shelters to rest in.
South of Härnösand are Barsviken and Skarpudden, which is the southernmost cape on the High Coast. Barsviken is a bay between Skarpudden and Saltholmen with a lovely beach and lawn next to it. At the southern tip of Skarpudden is the lighthouse, which is an excellent place to study bird migration. Adjacent to the parking lot is Barsviksberget with a cave, two rauks and nice views. Here you can also see ancient remains and rock carvings on the mountain from our past.
Barsviken Chapel
In the 18th century, many fishermen from southern Norrland (the Gävle fishermen) came to fish along the coast. As church attendance was compulsory at the time, the Gävle fishermen applied to build a chapel in Barsviken. Not only did they need a place of worship, they also needed somewhere to store their gear during the winter months.
The chapel was inaugurated on July 10, 1762.

Along the path to Skarpudden there are several ancient remains.
Caves
About 350 meters from the parking lot in Barsviken is Ljusbergshålan, which consists of two caves and a rock slide.
