Fälleberget recreation area
Five kilometers south of Härnösand is Fälleberget's outdoor recreation area with mountain nature consisting of rocky areas alternating with marshes and small lakes. At Fälleberget you can hike throughout the year on various hiking trails that take visitors to beautiful viewpoints.
Hiking
There are several hiking trails on Fälleberget. Along the trails there are also several bird watching sites. During the winter, a hiking trail is kept open that can be hiked with snowshoes or with ordinary shoes.
- The Lomtjärn trail is 3.5 kilometers
- Värptjärnsleden 5 kilometers
- Svartviksleden 12.5 kilometers.
- Svartviksleden takes you to the Svartvik sea bath and further down to Knivsjömalen.
Fishing
In Värptjärn you can fish for planted rainbow trout or perch. There are windbreaks and an accessible jetty that you can get down to with wheelchairs, walkers and prams.
The fishing area is managed by the sport fishing club Strömsländan, which sells fishing licenses that are paid for via swish or via a card machine on site.
Grouse playing
During the spring, from March and April, you can experience grouse playing on Fälleberget. The best chance to see the grouse is early in the morning, at sunrise.
Fällestugan
Friluftsfrämjandet has a cabin that can be rented via Friluftsfrämjandet Härnösand's website and next to the cabin there are several barbecue areas. In winter, the trail is sledged up to the cabin by snowmobile. Firewood can be purchased by swish payment on site.
Ski touring and snowshoeing
Fällberget's outdoor area is a popular area for ski touring or snowshoeing. It is possible to follow the already marked trails or to go out into the untraveled nature, which with its rocky areas and bogs makes it easy to get around.
