There are plenty of nice swimming spots in Härnösand. Lovely sea baths with soft sandy beaches and warm lake baths.
Bathing in the sea
The largest and most popular beach is Smitingen, which is located on the eastern side of Härnön, about 6 km from central Härnösand. Smitingen is also a nature reserve with hiking trails, caves and shingle fields.
Svartviks havsbad, also known as Frölandssanden, is a nice swimming area with a grooved sandy bottom. Svartvik is located about 9 km south of central Härnösand.

Lakes
Two popular lake baths with plenty of space for everyone are Stallarna, which you will find by Lake Brunnesjön, and Starredsbadet by Lake Gussjön. Both are located west of the center. Stallarna is about 16 km away and Starredsbadet is about 25 km from central Härnösand.
