Skating

There are many lakes to go on when the cold comes and periodically it is also possible to go on sea ice. One example is Lake Öjesjön, which usually freezes early in the season and when the ice is thick enough, tracks are plowed for long-distance skating, kick skating and walking.

Friluftsfrämjandet sometimes organizes ice skating tours.

Equipment

Remember to bring "KUS" with you on the ice, i.e. Knowledge, Equipment, Company. Equipment that can be good to have with you:

• Ice spikes
• Rescue line
• Buoyancy aid

Högslätten

On Högslätten there is public skating, both in the ice rink, on the outdoor rink and on the bandy track. The outdoor rink is NHL-sized and is a complement to the ice rink. The rink follows the seasons and is flushed when it starts to freeze outside, and is maintained as long as the weather permits.

Public skating

During the winter season, it is possible for the public to skate on the ice rinks of Högslättten. The booking page is automatically updated from the municipality's booking system during the season, and available times can be found via the button below. The ice rink is open from mid-August to the end of March.
