Nordarkiv

Nordarkiv is an archive centre in Härnösand for municipalities, municipal companies, other public organizations and associations. Both physical and digital documents can be stored and processed there in a secure and professional manner. The plan is for Nordarkiv to be up and running by 2026.

The project

Municipalities and other public organizations are facing increasing demands in terms of archiving and information security. Small municipalities and organizations are finding it increasingly difficult to meet the requirements and to find the necessary expertise.

Härnösand has long had both expertise and experience in archiving and the project's goal is to create Nordarkiv, a hub and center for archiving and document management that can be operated both cost-effectively and reliably.

In addition to building up a modern archive with the physical conditions required, the competence in archiving, information security and legal competence linked to archiving will continue to be strengthened. Members will receive the help and advice they need.

Nordarkiv will be located in the Tobaks premises vacated by the Fritidsbåtsmuseet.

The formation of Nordarkiv is inspired by Sydarkivera, a similar initiative in southern Sweden.
