Utsprångskajen
Utsprångskajen is located at Skeppsbron, in central Härnösand. In 2025-2027, the quay will be renovated into a modern quay that can complement the deep harbor and accommodate smaller vessels. At the same time, the quay itself can become a meeting place for Härnösand residents and visitors.
The project
Utsprångskajen will be completely renovated and restored as it was before (170 meters long). The quay will be able to receive smaller vessels from, for example, the Coast Guard, the Swedish Navy, maritime training and other actors, and possibly also smaller cruise ships.
In this way, Härnösand would have two ports that complement each other, Djuphamnen for larger ships, freight traffic and ro/ro vessels and Utsprångskajen for smaller ships.
The idea is also that the quay should be an accessible and attractive meeting place for Härnösand residents and visitors. Before the closure, for example, Utsprångskajen was a popular place for fishermen.
The area
Utsprångskajen is located along Skeppsbron, a kilometer-long quay/street along the sea. There is also a guest harbor for leisure boats, tour boats to the High Coast and quays for the armed forces, coast guard and maritime education. Skeppsbron has great potential to be developed into an attractive maritime route with people, boats and new activities.
In this vision, Utsprångskajen would become a very central place, both for everyday public life and as a center for ship visits.
Work is currently underway to develop a planning program for the entire Skeppsbron.
