Sustainable societal transition
Västernorrland is facing a major social transformation and all the county's municipalities are facing completely new challenges. In the Sustainable Societal Transition project , HSO, the municipalities are joining forces to build a sustainable society to the best of their ability based on a new situation that comes with new and great opportunities.
The project
The new green industry is on the rise in the north of Sweden, which means that our region is facing historic growth opportunities. With this rapid growth comes a huge demand on the region's municipalities to rapidly transform our communities to meet a much-needed population increase. It is estimated that 15,000 new jobs and 40,000 new citizens will be created in the region. Together, we will join forces to build a sustainable society based on the new situation created by the green transition. Together, we will seize and develop the opportunities that lie ahead.
Sustainable and efficient spatial planning
The project is about identifying smart ways of working, sharing knowledge between municipalities to make community building more efficient and creating conditions for the increased needs of the business community. All this will contribute to and lead to sustainable growth throughout the region. Through advocacy work, the project will also find ways to reduce the risks for municipalities facing major investments in the transformation of society.
